JOE MARTIN
"After releasing his debut album Empty Passenger Seat in 2023 to much acclaim, Joe Martin is now looking to record and release his much anticipated second album 'Alone In Valentine'. The release in April 2026 will coincide with a full band tour and will be a showcase premiere of the whole album from start to finish. The album will be cut in the capital of country music, Nashville, with legendary names in the country music world working alongside Joe to bring the album to life. Cal Campbell and Cornelius Webb, sons of the legends Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb will be producing Alone In Valentine which aims to be a bridge between musical generations, bringing something new and pushing boundaries, while having elements rooted in the classic country sound.
Joe Martin is a modern day troubadour, a seasoned songwriter and performer having played to tens of thousands of people across the UK and Europe over the past decade.
The Lancashire born singer-songwriter is deservedly gaining attention on both sides of the Atlantic seeing him play shows around the UK, Europe and legendary venues in Nashville, Tennessee.
He grew up listening to the greats and has been influenced by artists from Bob Dylan, James Taylor and Townes Van Zandt to Jason Isbell and Kacey Musgraves which is evident in his sound and lyrical style.
The past few years have been an experience-rich journey helping Joe refine his song writing and storytelling craft. Playing the pre-eminent Bluebird Cafe in Nashville Tennessee was a profound moment for Joe, the feeling of coming full circle, after being inspired by the show Nashville on which the Bluebird was regularly featured. Meeting and taking advice from his song writing idol John Paul White of the Civil Wars a week before his Bluebird debut was also an inspirational moment.
"The night I was at the Bluebird a young Englishman with a rich, resonant voice named Joe Martin seemed primed for bigger things." - Jeremy Egner New York Times.
Another of Joe's musical idols includes producer Dave Cobb, the artists he has produced; Brent Cobb, Jason Isbell, Colter Wall and Chris Stapleton to name a few, have played a major influence in inspiring Joe's own music. So, it was a humbling moment when he was asked to cowrite at RCA studios with one of Cobb's writers Aaron Raitiere and given a personal tour of RCA's "Studio A", where musical legends from the Beach Boys to Dolly Parton to George Strait have made history.
In 2017 Joe released his debut EP 'Small World' to much acclaim, he then went on to released a suite of singles with the Champs of the much respected UK Americana band 'Danny and the Champions of the World'. In 2021 Joe released his new EP 'Bound For Lonesome' a series of songs written on his 2018 trip to Nashville and recored with the renowned and much loved Chorlton Country Club.
Joe then went on to record and release a live album 'The First Five Years'. A kick starter initiative to raise money towards his debut album. He then released his single 'High Gravity' October 2022, on a value for value model which was chosen to be a world's first value split on the podcasting 2.0 model. Joe then launched his debut studio album Empty Passenger Seat which is out now on all streaming platforms!
He embarks on his next journey with his second studio album 'Alone In Valentine' which will be released April 26.
