TRUE FOXES

Cornwall-born Folk/Americana powerhouse True Foxes are rapidly carving out their place as one of the South West's most exciting and hardworking musical exports. This electrifying cousin-duo—Amie Parsons and Chloe Payne—blend jaw-dropping vocal talent, rich musicality, and magnetic on-stage chemistry into a sound that feels both timeless and refreshingly new.

Amie, whose soaring voice and heartfelt songwriting have drawn comparisons to Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton, and Brandi Carlile, leads with undeniable presence. Whether she's wielding a guitar, ukulele, banjo, or piano, her performance is raw, powerful, and deeply emotive. Chloe elevates every moment with her shimmering harmonies, distinctive melodic bass lines, and an effortless ability to shift the tone from delicate to driving. Together, they deliver a show that feels like a journey—equal parts intimate storytelling, folk-laced nostalgia, and irresistible "sisterly" charm.

Their work ethic is legendary. Crowned "the hardest working duo in the South West" by Daniel Pascoe (BBC Introducing), 2023 saw them perform an astonishing 250 shows across England, Scotland, and Wales. From major theatres to iconic grassroots venues, the pair earned rave reviews and brought their signature sound to stages such as the Liverpool Philharmonic and The Water Rats in London.

Their debut EP Sunny (2022) lit the spark, gaining repeated airplay across the BBC network—Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire—cementing True Foxes as an emerging force in the UK folk scene.

In 2023, the duo launched their first headline tour, performing original material to enthusiastic ticketed audiences before diving headfirst into an action-packed festival season. Their name lit up lineups at major events including Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Wilderness, Wychwood, Celtic Connections, and Boardmasters, alongside appearances on main stages at Tunes in the Dunes, The Great Estate, Rock Oyster, and Rattler Fest. Their dynamic performances, heartfelt connection to crowds, and unmistakable harmonies have made them a standout wherever they appear.

Now entering their next era, True Foxes are showing no signs of slowing down. With their EP behind them, the release of singles "How Are You Now?", "17", a cinematic music video, and their newest single "Devil's Calling", the duo are gearing up for their highly anticipated debut album arriving in 2024. Their momentum is undeniable, their sound is evolving, and their fanbase is growing faster than ever.

Bold, authentic, and impossible not to love—True Foxes are only just getting started.

Live Reviews — True Foxes (2025 / 2024 shows)

From the moment Amie and Chloë stepped on stage, it was clear this wasn't just another folk show — it was a heartfelt musical journey. Their chemistry is electric: Amie's soulful, commanding vocals paired with rich acoustic guitar (and occasional ukulele, banjo or piano) are beautifully matched by Chloë's shimmering harmonies and melodic bass. The result? A sound both lush and raw — haunting at times, uplifting at others — with emotional weight and graceful intimacy that linger long after the last chord fades.

What stands out most is how effortlessly they draw you in. Their storytelling — through originals and harmonies — builds a sense of connection with the audience. Between songs there's a warm, playful rapport; the "sisterly banter" gives the performance a human, relatable edge. One gets the sense of being welcomed into someone's living room — and then being blown away by the power of their voices.

Musically, the set is grounded but versatile. What might start as a tender, introspective ballad can swell into a full-bodied folk anthem, all while remaining intimate and honest. Their songs strike a balance between melancholic reflection and hopeful uplift — a contrast that gives their live shows real emotional depth.

The audience reaction says it all: frequent applause, smiles, and silent, rapt attention during the quieter numbers — and with louder moments, there's a palpable energy that pulses through the room. It's clear this duo doesn't just perform songs — they create atmosphere, stir emotions, and build a sense of collective experience.

If you're even slightly drawn to folk, Americana, or evocative storytelling — live — you don't want to miss True Foxes. Their shows aren't just concerts; they're immersive, emotional, soul-stirring experiences.
