SARI SCHORR & JIM KIRKPATRICK – Bank Holiday Monday Special

Monday 4th May – Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre

A very rare • up-close • acoustic performance

Sari Schorr – Voice, Fire & Modern Blues-Rock Authority

A voice of breathtaking power, emotional depth and absolute conviction, Sari Schorr stands as one of the most commanding and authentic figures in contemporary Blues-Rock. Even stripped back to an acoustic setting, her performances don't soften — they intensify, with every breath, crack and surge landing straight in the chest.

Sari first exploded onto the international scene in 2016 with her debut album A Force of Nature, produced by legendary British blues architect Mike Vernon (David Bowie, Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green). The album announced a major new voice: raw, fearless and emotionally unfiltered — rooted in tradition, delivered with modern authority.

She pushed further with Never Say Never, insisting it be recorded live to preserve the sweat, tension and electricity of her music. The songs dig deep into personal territory, revealing vulnerability, resilience and hard-won truth — meticulously crafted yet visceral blues-rock that connects because it's lived.

A defining career moment came through her collaboration with British guitar icon Robin Trower. Their single "I'll Be Waiting" hit Number One on the blues charts, pairing Trower's molten tone with Sari's commanding, soul-driven vocal — a modern blues landmark that cemented her status as a true equal alongside the genre's greats.

Forged the hard way, her journey runs from the fierce clubs of the South Bronx and Manhattan's Lower East Side to the stage of Carnegie Hall. Operatically trained yet utterly rooted in the blues, Sari chose the long road — and made it count. In an intimate acoustic setting, that journey is laid bare: no smoke, no cover, just truth and voice.

Jim Kirkpatrick – Precision, Power & British Blues-Rock Fire

Dubbed "England's equivalent to Joe Bonamassa" by Blues Matters, Jim Kirkpatrick brings over 25 years of blues and rock authority — with the touch, tone and restraint that shine brightest in an acoustic room.

A formidable songwriter and guitarist, Jim blends high-octane blues-rock energy with slide and fingerstyle playing worthy of Duane Allman. Best known as lead guitarist with FM since 2008, he has also worked and toured with major figures including Bernie Marsden, Band of Friends, Sweet and John "Rhino" Edwards.

His acclaimed solo work — from Ballad of a Prodigal Son to the lauded Dead Man Walking — proves his depth as a writer, singer and player. In this rare acoustic format, Jim's dynamics, phrasing and feel come to the fore, revealing the craft behind the fire.

Two road-forged artists. Just voice, strings and truth — inches away.

This isn't background music. It's a once-in-a-blue-moon, no-escape encounter. Put it in your calendar.
