Audience favourite Nell Bryden is back with a new and deeply personal album: "I Love You So Much I'm Blind." Putting a raw spin on her American blues and soul roots, Nell's latest tour-de-force shows off her gorgeously rich and emotional voice. A New York songwriter who bravely shares her vulnerabilities, it feels like she is singing just for you. After years of struggling with heartbreak and infertility, Nell leads us through her journey of acceptance and redemption. "I Love You So Much I'm Blind" may be her most emotionally powerful record to date.

Native New Yorker Nell Bryden grew up in a bohemian artist's loft in Brooklyn, her mother a classical soprano and her father an oil painter. She got her singer songwriter start in the folk clubs of Boston before moving back to try to conquer her hometown. When the Big Apple chewed her up and spat her out, she spent a decade in London honing her craft, touring Europe extensively, playing upwards of 250 shows a year.

Having released her debut album "What Does It Take" in 2009 under her own record label, she became known as a BBC Radio 2 darling, and went on to enjoy 21 consecutive play-listed singles â€" a record-breaker even for major label artists. Her song about her experience in 9/11, called "Sirens," from her second album "Shake The Tree," was covered by Cher. Known as an artist who's "at home" on stage, she's supported Gary Barlow, Chris Rea, Counting Crows, KT Tunstall, and Duane Eddy, among others, and played numerous festivals including Car Fest, V Festival, and Proms In The Park.

Nell has released seven studio albums, as well as "The Collection" in 2020, an anthology of her 21 radio singles. The latest album "Arms Around The Flame" was released in 2022. She lives in New York with her two dogs and a cat that inadvertently feature in her home studio recordings, notably her remote performance with the BBC Concert Orchestra during the Coronavirus lockdown, for Ken Bruce's House Music Sessions.

Nell Bryden sings from the heart and shoots from the hip. The bombshell from Brooklyn has the urban lifestyle in her blood, the country/folk spirit of Americana in her soul, and the great American songbook in her head.

LIVE REVIEW

Nell took to the stage and immediately captivated the audience with her bubbly personality and music, gracefully working her guitar. A marvel not be missed, check out Nell Bryden and band at a venue near you while they are touring the UK! - The Luminaire, Kilburn

With a personality larger than life and talent to match, Nell Bryden stands on the edge of greatness and deservedly so. - BBC Club London

Nell's banter in between her performance was both witty and highly entertaining, engaging her fans. The gal sure loves to talk, and equally she loves to tell tales of her native New York. Nell's enormous voice is perfectly suited for her choice of musical style – a hybrid of jazz, blues and American roots from past and present, but mainly from the past. With just her guitar for accompaniment, her voice was at times so strong that I was certain even passers-by on the nearby Charing Cross Road could hear it.

One thing for sure: Miss Bryden doesn't like to dwell in misery too much, no matter how heavy the topic. Here's a real good-time gal who seemingly feels at home wherever she is, not even her hectic schedule of recording, touring, radio shows and what have you manage to put a damper on her stamina and energy.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. - with the lovely Nell Bryden, who hopefully will get to grace larger venues soon – as the headlining act. - The Borderline, London
