Kent-born and bred, Sorrel Nation is a compelling songstress carving her own path through the modern folk-rock landscape. Blending raw soul with 70s-inspired folk and rock textures, she delivers powerhouse vocals, haunting melodies, and emotionally charged songwriting that cuts straight to the core. Her original material is deeply evocative and fiercely honest, captivating audiences with stories that linger long after the final note. Alongside her own songs, Sorrel is also renowned for her striking reinterpretations of artists such as Gillian Welch, Fleetwood Mac, and Portishead, reimagined with her unmistakable voice and intensity.
Sorrel has built a formidable live reputation, performing at iconic venues across London and the South East and sharing stages with folk legends including Dave Swarbrick, Martin Carthy, Madison Violet, and Gemma Hayes, as well as rock icon Tom Hingley. Her magnetic stage presence and emotional delivery have seen her welcomed onto some of the UK's most respected festival stages, including Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, Black Deer Festival, and the Isle of Wight Festival.
A true road-hardened artist, Sorrel spends her summers touring the festival circuit with The Magic Teapot music venue, travelling the country in her campervan and bringing her music directly to audiences wherever they gather. This grassroots, DIY ethos underpins everything she does and feeds directly into the authenticity of her performances.
In July 2024, Sorrel marked a major milestone with the release of her live EP Thirty Summers, launched on her 30th birthday. This was swiftly followed by her studio album Lost En Route, released in October 2024 to coincide with a highly successful band tour throughout the UK. The momentum continued into 2025 with the completion of the Lost En Route Vinyl Tour, celebrating the album's vinyl release in March and further cementing her reputation as a relentless and passionate live performer.
And yes… Sorrel Nation is her real name.
