CAITLIN KRISKO & THE BROADCAST

Saturday Afternoon • 10th October 2026 • Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre

Some artists perform music. Others seem to channel it from somewhere deep within their soul. Caitlin Krisko is one of those rare performers.

Born in Detroit, shaped by the energy of New York City and now based in the creative mountain city of Asheville, North Carolina, Caitlin Krisko has quietly become one of the most exciting voices emerging from the modern American roots-rock scene. Fronting her formidable band, The Broadcast, she blends Southern soul, blues, Americana, rock and gospel into a sound that feels both timeless and completely contemporary. Her voice can move from a whisper to a full-throated roar within a single phrase — rich with emotion, power and authenticity.

Described by Rolling Stone as "one of the best kept vocal secrets of the Southeast", Caitlin has spent years building her reputation the old-fashioned way — through relentless touring, unforgettable live performances and songs that genuinely connect with people.

The story of the band stretches back to the early 2010s when Caitlin formed The Broadcast after relocating to Asheville. What followed was a steady rise through the American roots and festival circuit, earning slots alongside some of the biggest names in contemporary Americana and Southern rock. Over the years they have shared stages with legendary soul icon Mavis Staples, Southern rock powerhouse Marcus King, Blackberry Smoke, Margo Price, The Avett Brothers, Greta Van Fleet, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Bettye LaVette and even artists connected to the legacy of the late Gregg Allman.

Backing Caitlin is a superb band featuring Aaron Austin on guitar, Michael W. Davis on drums and William Seymour on bass. Together they create a powerful musical chemistry built around groove, feel and dynamics rather than empty showmanship. Their performances can drift from smoky late-night soul ballads into full-blown Southern rock explosions within moments.

Their recording pedigree is equally impressive. The band's releases have involved acclaimed producers including Eric Sarafin, known for his work with Ben Harper and Foreigner, and Grammy-winning producer Jim Scott, whose credits include Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, Grace Potter and Tedeschi Trucks Band. Their acclaimed album Lost My Sight also featured collaboration with celebrated bassist Tim Lefebvre, famed for his work on David Bowie's Blackstar, alongside Tedeschi Trucks Band drummer Tyler "Falcon" Greenwell.

Recent releases have shown a band continuing to evolve artistically. Their deeply personal EP Blueprints was written in the aftermath of Caitlin losing her mother and explores themes of grief, resilience, healing and hope. Critics praised the record for its emotional honesty and powerful songwriting, with reviewers highlighting the band's ability to balance heartbreaking ballads with groove-driven rock and soul.

What The Critics Are Saying

Rock & Blues Muse called the band:

"A high-powered, good time machine."

Reviewing the single Operator, they described Caitlin as having:

"a clear, outsized voice"

while praising the song as:

"a soul-drenched hurricane."

Velvet Thunder praised the band's musicianship and emotional depth, describing them as:

"a really tight, accomplished band."

while noting Caitlin's:

"heart-rending vocals."

Rocking Magpie wrote that the band have:

"create[d] a very distinctive sound all of their own."

Meanwhile live reviewers continue to rave about their performances, regularly highlighting Caitlin's soaring vocals, the band's groove-heavy musicianship and their ability to completely captivate an audience. A recent UK review described their set as an impressive blend of blues, soul and roots music that left audiences immediately wanting more.

For fans of Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, Grace Potter, The Black Crowes, Tedeschi Trucks Band and the modern Americana movement, this promises to be a truly special afternoon.
